Alessia Andò and Dimitri Breda will visit prof. Jianhong Wu and the Laboratory for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (LIAM) at York University (Toronto, Canada) from 25 to 31 August 2018 for research collaboration on mathematical and numerical analysis in the fields of epidemiology, ecology and population dynamics.

During the visit, they will take part in the LIAM-IRC-MfPH Symposium 2018 on Structured population models: Theory, numerics and applications. Alessia Andò will give the seminar Collocation methods for the computation of periodic solutions of complex delay systems and Dimitri Breda will give three lectures on numerical methods for the stability analysis of delay differential and renewal equations:

  1. Stability of equilibria: the infinitesimal generator approach,
  2. Stability of periodic solutions: the solution operator approach,
  3. Bifurcation of nonlinear problems: back to ODEs.
